Raise awareness and take action in order to Restore the Ecosystem

Every year , we celebrates World Environment Day, which serves as a major platform for raising environmental awareness and encouraging people to take action. This year's theme is 'Ecosystem Restoration.'

We have been abusing and ruining our planet's ecosystems for far too long. Every three seconds, the globe loses enough forest to cover a football field, and we have destroyed half of our wetlands in the previous century.

Restoration can take numerous forms, such as planting actively or eliminating stresses so that nature can heal itself. Returning an ecosystem to its former state isn't always possible - or desirable. On land that was previously forest, for example, we still need farms and infrastructure, and ecosystems, like society, must adapt to climate change.

At a time when mankind can least afford it, ecosystem degradation is robbing the globe of carbon sinks such as forests and peatlands. For the third year in a row, global greenhouse gas emissions have increased, putting the world on track for possibly catastrophic climate change.

The appearance of COVID-19 has also highlighted exactly how severe the repercussions of ecological degradation may be. By limiting the extent of natural habitat for animals, humans have created ideal circumstances for infections – including coronaviruses – to spread.

Ecosystem restoration entails assisting in the recovery of ecosystems that have been degraded or destroyed, as well as the preservation of ecosystems that have not been damaged or destroyed. More fertile soils, larger harvests of timber and fish, and larger stores of greenhouse gases are all benefits of healthier ecosystems with richer biodiversity.

Only with healthy ecosystems can we enhance people’s livelihoods, counteract climate change and stop the collapse of biodiversity.

It is now the final Quarter. Overall, this school year has been a fantastic learning experience. In our ICT class, I learned a lot throughout the school year. This quarter, we familiarized ourselves with the fundamental ideas of Microsoft FrontPage, such as the many parts of it and the significance of MS FrontPage. We do, however, continue to write and publish  blogs and make comments on them. Challenges and setbacks are a vital part of learning, therefore I had some difficulties in ICT this quarter, but I remained calm and determined to conquer them. As we approach the end of the school year in our ICT class, I am grateful and thankful to our Almighty God for allowing me to complete the last quarter of this school year despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts celebrated from the last week of April to the first week of May was originally the Feast of the Natives that began on May 3, 1883, according to the writings of Damaso King, a well-known Vigan historian.  Binatbatan Festival celebrations, which includes a street dancing competition. Binatbatan dancing is connected to Vigan’s abel Iloco craft. The dance depicts how cotton pods are beaten with bamboo sticks to release the cotton fluff called batbat from its seed. This festival was started in 2002 to showcase this traditional weaving craft that is said to predate the arrival of the Spaniards.
