Fifteen years ago, a noble idea developed in the minds of a group of civic spirited Ilocanos who wanted to promote cultural awareness and preserve the rich historical and cultural heritage of Ilocos Norte. They wanted to rekindle in the youth and future generations the pride of their heritage. New Year, new hope, new challenges, new beginning, and  most importantly, new celebration of the annual Celebrations. As we welcomed the Year 2021, we all know that the month of January is the month that we celebrate the Fiesta of Vigan City Ilocos Sur. In this time of Pandemic, are we still gonna be able to celebrate the Fiesta of Vigan as the same celebration from the previous year?      Before, the Vigan City Fiesta is held in honour of  St. Paul the Apostle, the city’s patron saint, on 25 January each year.  Locals and tourists gather to experience   and see the street dancing, carnivals, food fairs, and arts and crafts, adding to the attraction of this UNESCO World Heritage City. As we entered last year 2020 with all the hope a new year brings, no one could have predicted the reality that was to come. Through the year 2020, there are a lot of failures and challenges that we experienced. Covid-19 Pandemic came unexpectedly. Despite the failures and challenges that we faced , we are still here, standing firm as we entered into a new year—Year 2021. So, as we bid 2020 farewell—perhaps with a sigh  of relief—we reflect on the year’s joys and accomplishments despite the challenges.​ If 2020 has taught us anything, it's that we  can't know what next year will bring. Due this Covid-19 pandemic, distance learning was implemented. It means that we need to start again to a new type of learning. This new way of learning is really difficult. There are  a lot of challenges that  students can face in their everyday lives.
